About Me

I've always been interested in the complexities of human experience—what makes us tick, what hurts us, and how we heal. Counselling, for me, isn't just a profession but a natural extension of this curiosity about how our minds work and affect our daily lives.

I have undergone my own personal therapy for many years, so I understand how hard therapy can feel, and how powerful it can be too. When we work together, we'll explore beneath the surface of any issues to understand what's really going on, “Notice anything familiar?” ”I wonder if we think about…” This psychodynamic approach means looking at patterns and root causes rather than quick fixes. It's like tending to the roots of a plant rather than just trimming the leaves.

My background is working within an NHS in-patient mental health setting in Occupational Therapy, as well as Neuro-rehabilitation.

Having later volunteered as a Samaritan, I found listening powerful. I pursued counselling and, having qualified, I worked as an Associate at Stort Psychotherapy as well as Chelmsford Counselling Foundation. I volunteered for the charity Place2Be and worked as an Assistant School Project Manager in a secondary school.

I have completed many CPD courses, such as exploring infertility and child loss, neurodiversity, attachment-based work and body image and eating disorders.

I support adults and couples through all sorts of challenges—from anxiety to grief, from self-esteem to relationship difficulties. My approach isn't about handing out advice or solutions. Instead, we’ll work together to help you discover your own inner strength. The changes that follow tend to be deeper and more lasting because they come from you.

Through my different life experiences, I have learnt to nurture an understanding and compassion for clients. Sessions may feel both supportive and challenging on occasions in order to facilitate the change you desire.

Whether we meet in my Bishop's Stortford office or online, I create a space where you can speak freely without judgement.
